Emily Deschanel/Dra. Temperance Brennan
Nació en Los Ángeles, California, y es hija del director de fotografía Caleb Deschanel y de la actriz Mary Jo Deschanel. Tiene ascendencia irlandesa y francesa,[cita requerida] y tiene una hermana llamada Zooey Deschanel, también actriz.
