He pensado que con motivo del nombramiento de Ian como Embajador de la Buena Voluntad de la ONU se merecía un post propio, para ir colgando todas las noticias que tengan relación con él, su vida, sus proyectos y sus trabajos. Porque es mucho más que una cara bonita (por muy bonita que sea xD) me gustaría que este post se dedicara, no sólo a su vida personal, sino, en gran parte, a su vida profesional y su labor filantrópica, aunque esto no quiere decir que no podamos deleitarnos con sus mejores fotos ¡eh! 
Al igual que en mis otros posts, lo único que pido es respeto, a la hora de comentar y hacia las opiniones de los demás. Todo el mundo es libre de pensar como quiere, obviamente, y todas las opiniones serán bien recibidas si están bien expresadas.
Dicho esto, espero que este post sea un punto de encuentro para disfrutar y hablar de Ian, para todas aquellas personas que adoramos a Smolder no sólo por su belleza, por supuesto, sino sobretodo por su gran talento como actor y lo increíble que nos parece como persona, por lo solidario, preocupado y entregado que es. Para mi Ian es mi ídolo así que os invito a que os unáis a mi en este post para poder compartir información y comentar sobre él.

Supergirl: 8 reasons why Ian Somerhalder as Superman on Supergirl would make perfect sense
1. He's Got Some Serious Acting Skills and Experience
Ian Somerhalder knows how to act and he has proved that time and time again. To play a role as big as Superman you would need a proven TV actor. Ian Somerhalder fits the bill. Ian Somerhalder is a seasoned actor and has worked on two major shows — LOST and The Vampire Diaries. The roles that he played on the two shows are completely different from each other and it shows that he can adapt into any role and make the character his own.
2. He's Got The Looks
Dark hair and a perfect jawline is what you need to be Superman. Ian Somerhalder has both. Millions of girls across the world, who were left heartbroken when Ian married Nikki Reed, would come charging at you if you say that Ian Somerhalder is not attractive enough. So, choose your words carefully in the comments section. I won't take the blame if anything happens to you. Also, how can you get more women to watch this female led superhero show? Simple! Just bring over Ian Somerhalder to the show.
3. The CW Network Loves Him
For the past seven years, Ian Somerhalder has been the pillar of strength for The Vampire Diaries and The CW. By the time the first season for The Vampire Diaries aired, Ian Somerhalder had already made a name for himself and was one of the reasons why TV rating for the show were high from the very beginning. After a disastrous sixth season and the departure of Nina Dobrev from the show, everyone expected the rating to go down drastically for season 7. But the mere presence of Ian Somerhalder didn't let that happen. The CW Network loves him for that and has decided to renew The Vampire Diaries for an eighth season. It is safe to assume that when Ian decides hang up his fangs, The CW will decide to cancel the show.
4. The Vampire Diaries Could End Soon
As of now, we know that Superman is set to be a part of the first couple of episodes of Supergirl. He'll probably appear a couple of times after that at most, throughout the season. Although he would be busy filming for The Vampire Diaries, he could definitely take some time off and go visit National City for three or four episodes. He appeared for the final season of LOST, while filming the second season of The Vampire Diaries. So, he can totally do it again. Patrick J. Adams will play the role of Hourman for an entire season of DC's Legends of Tomorrow, after filming an entire season of Suits. So, if he can do it, why can't Ian? There have been rumours that the eighth season of The Vampire Diaries could be its last. This means that Ian Somerhalder would be available to make more appearances on Supergirl season 3 onwards.
5. DC and Warner Bros. Trust Him
Warner Bros. is the parent studio for The Vampire Diaries and like The CW Network, they have also recognized his contribution to the success of the show. But we got proof of how much Warner Bros. and DC Comics trusts him during last year's San Diego Comic-Con. Ian Somerhalder was entrusted with the job of hosting the entire DC-Warner Bros. TV panel. Could it have been his first step towards becoming Superman on TV
6. The Huge Fan Base
Both Ian Somerhalder and The Vampire Diaries have a huge fan base. If The CW managed to acquire Ian, the Friday night viewers of The CW wouldn't mind switching on their televisions for Ian on Mondays as well. The one thing that Supergirl lacked during season one was ratings. If the entire fan base of The Vampire Diaries start watching Supergirl, TV ratings won't be an headache anymore for the producers, the network and the studio.
7. The CW, Warner Bros. and DC Owe Him One
Supergirl already has an ex-vampire in their midst. Peter Facinelli, who's seen as Maxwell Lord on Supergirl, played the role of Edward's father, Carlisle Cullen in the Twilight series. But Supergirl had also a former Smallville actor guest star in a couple of episiodes. Laura Vandervoort, who played Supergirl in Smallville, appeared on Supergirl as Indigo. However, Ian Somerhalder has done it both. Ian appeared on Smallville for a few episodes as Adam Knight. He was supposed to play a young Bruce Wayne on the show. But Cristopher Nolan wanted Batman to remain exclusive to the movie (Batman Begins) that he was developing at that time. So, the writers quickly changed his character to Adam Knight. In an interview back in 2004, this is what he had to say:
"It’s cold up here and the producers really kind of screwed me up by switching my story line after I had shot three episodes thinking that I was one thing, when in fact I was another."
Warner Bros., DC and The CW Network robbed him off an once-in-a-lifetime opportunity of playing Bruce Wayne. Could they rectify their mistake by making him Superman?

Melissa Benoist and Ian Somerhalder have about the same age difference as Supergirl and Superman on the show. Even Tom Welling and Matt Bomer are about the right age to be Superman to Melissa Benoist's Supergirl. But most of the actors I've seen on everyone's wishlist are not of the right age to play Kara's cousin. Among the actors who are in the running to play Superman, Ian Somerhalder has an added advantage. He has got a chemistry with Melissa Benoist. Don't believe us? Si Ian aparece en una serie de superhéroes, por fa, que sea en una de Marvel. Que las de DC no las veo!!! Por cierto, ya que estoy: quiero que Ian salga en la sit-com de Marvel de Damage Control. Eso sería genial!!

Jjaaj yo reconozco que la única serie de Superhéroes que veo es Arrow, que es DC(y que si la cancelaran tampoco me rasgaría las vestiduras jaja)y la anterior creo que fue Smallville, precisamente la primera vez que vi a Ian(una pena que cambiaran su personaje y no fuera el joven Bruce Wayne)...he leído algo sobre una serie Marvel que se va a llamar Legión(protagonizada por el primo Matthew de Downton Abbey), y que tiene bastante buena pinta, y tampoco me importaría que Ian tuviera un papel en ella jaja
